Journey by Herschel Blue
Desert, desert, desert. If I didn't know any better, I'd say I was bound, gagged, and tossed into the middle of the Sahara Desert...but that's not the case. In Journey you are a...creature...Robed Person, that is making their way to a mountain top. Sounds simple right? Well, one would think.
Journey is one of the TRUE adventure games to date. Though, at the very core, simple like the rest of That Game Company's works, it brings out not only the urge to explore, but the setting of the stages, the beautiful design of the landscapes and the "journey" itself is memorable. Going from one stage to the next, each stage has a unique puzzle or treat for the player.
A very unique feature within Journey is the companion feature. While you play Journey online, at any point on your quest, another Robed Person may join you and aid you as you both make your way to the tower. What's very interesting about this feature is not knowing the PSN name of your companion until the end of your journey. A great feature in all honest opinion, for being with a companion helps you keep the magic energy that's in your scarf.

Graphically, this game is very stunning. From the bright sun, to the golden dunes of the desert, and finally the snow capped mountain, this game gives your eyes a treat it won't ignore as you further yourself into the game.
Comparing Journey to other TGC titles, it still presents itself rather nicely to the player. Being simple, calm, and pleasant to the gamer but turning quite serious in the long run. The controls are simple and friendly which is perfect in a game like this. There's no combat, but this game doesn't need it. This game is like the epitome of a children's dream turned into an interactive movie, and I for one am glad to have spent the time playing it over and over to 100 percent.
So let's sum things up here. Journey is an amazing adventure style game that says "Whatever" to the norm and immerses you into a fantasy world where every trip is a little different from the last. Though, relatively short, Journey will bring you back to play it more and more. In the end, Journey lives up to it hype and won't disappoint any gamer from casual to hardcore.
Blac Tape TV gives Journey an outstanding 9.5 out of 10. This game is a definite keeper, a real, interactive storybook for all ages to enjoy.
